New season of Home Improvement premiers tonight!

by Tanner on October 11, 2011

Last Man Standing is Home Improvement for the 00s

“Home Improvement” was one of the top airing sitcoms of the 90s.

During it’s eight-season-run the show received numerous awards and was nominated for just as many. Tim Allen starred as the show’s main character, and that all worked well.

Now, starting tonight (October 11th, 2011), the show returns!

It’s been 12 years (12 YEARS!) since the last episode aired, and now all the children of the late 80s and 90s can finally tune back into the series where it left off, with Tim Allen and a heap load of masculinity puns.

Just kidding!

“Home Improvement” isn’t back, but you wouldn’t know it if you tune in to watch Tim Allen’s latest show “Last Man Standing” (which is basically “Home Improvement” with three girls instead of boys and Tim Allen is older and still not very funny).

Check out a full review of the show premiering tonight right here.

Brace yourself.

Here at GTV Design we like to have fun. We joke around a bit. We embrace funny, wholesome, good-fashioned American TV. But sometimes we like to tone down the attitude, especially when it comes to really, really good TV shows. Take NBC’s upcoming drama “Awake” which places a man in two realities, or not, or something. We’re not exactly quite sure yet, but when the show premieres next January you can bet we’ll be tuning in. Take a look at the trailer and see what we’re talking about for yourself:

2011 Emmy AwardsHere at GTV Design we’re all about good TV.

Supposedly so are the Emmy Awards, which took place last night with some of the biggest names in TV making an appearance or two. So, who took home a trophy and TV-history title? If you missed the ceremony or fell asleep mid-way through (like I did) all you really need to know is that people love the show “Modern Family.” A lot.

Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series? Julie Bowen of Modern Family. Who won the title of Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series? Ty Burrell of Modern Family, of course. Outstanding Directing For A Comedy Series? Michael Spiller of Modern Family. Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series: Steven Levitan & Jeffrey Richman of Modern Family. What about overall Outstanding Comedy Series? Modern Family.

So there you have it. Modern Family is downright outstanding.
